Third Age Films is the U3A's first film production unit, and the only U3A group in the country actively making feature films.

Latest news

The 2019 Spring Term saw the group completing two short films which were entered for the New Forest Film Festival, held in June 2019. The head judge was Mark Kermode, the well-known film critic, tv presenter, and journalist.

The Summer Term 2019 saw one film in production that is now being dubbed.

The Autumn Term was spent making a short film noir in the style of The Big Sleep. This was a major challenge for the group as it is set in 1948 San Francisco

The Spring Term will see pre-production on a comic tale of a mugging that went drastically wrong, and a drama set in an airb&b somewhere in Europe.

The group are currently seeking new members to take roles in their future film productions. No experience other than enthusiasm is necessary as appropriate tuition and advice will be given.
